Welcome to OpenOffice Introductory
Tutorial!
Let us help you to familiarise yourself
with the basic styles, boxes and page templates
that you will encounter in your course of
learning in the Interactive Tutorials.
We will begin with the different legends
that is shown in the tutorials.

The Lesson Plan
It will only appear in the beginning
of the chapter.
It shows the topics that you will be
learning and the uses and advantage
of knowing their functions. |

Proceed
Button
On the panel itself, there will be
a button for you to click on in order
to proceed with the Tutorial. This is
called the Proceed Button. |

The
Instructions Panel
In the course of the tutorial, a box
will appear at the corner of the screen,
with written instructions for you to
follow. This box is called the Instructions
Panel |

Tips
& Hints
At times, instructions appear in yellow.
These are tips and hints to aid you. |
|
Callout
Boxes
Callout Boxes will then appear telling
you where and what to click ( as shown
in Figure 1.4 ). Instructions will appear
in the boxes and are in bold. The tutorial
will then pause and wait for you to
complete the task issued. |

Red
Highlight
Some important factors and icons will
be highlighted out in red during the
course of the Interactive Tutorials.
Please take note of them as these are
important information and may help you
when creating you documents. |

Info
Callout Boxes
These are a different kind of callout
boxes. No actions are required for the
tutorial to proceed. Info Callout boxes
appear when there is are additional
steps or special tips that can be shown
in within the current window itself. |

Rollover
Boxes
In the midst of some tutorials, you
will be asked to move your mouse over
some icons and headings. When your mouse
hover over these items, a Rollover box
will appear stating the usage and functions
of these items. |

Lesson
Recap Panel
Just before finishing the current chapter,
this panel will appear.
There will be a recap of the lessons
that you have undergone. |

Close
button
To close the Interactive Tutorial and
go on to the next chapter, you will
have to click the Close button. |
